Islamic Texts and Polytheist Verdict on Hindu Muslim Interactions

Part 2: Sacred Boundaries: Why Hindu Rituals Cannot Include Muslims
Islamic Texts and Polytheist Verdict: Incompatibility Question
Consequent upon the circumstances arising from the refusal of Garba organizers to allow two Muslim girls to participate, our foundational analysis of sacred exclusion established that Hindus possess the same civilizational right to protect sacred boundaries that Islam, Christianity, and Judaism exercise without apology. Now we must address the core theological question that mainstream discourse deliberately avoids: Can a devout Muslim genuinely participate in Hindu worship?
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The answer, drawn directly from Islamic Texts and Polytheist Verdict, is categorically no. More than that—Islamic doctrine classifies Hindus in the most condemned category of humanity and mandates specific responses to their existence. This is not extremist innovation but classical doctrinal position. This is foundational Islamic theology.
Understanding this doctrinal reality is essential because it exposes the fundamental dishonesty in the “inclusion” narrative. When Muslim girls seek entry to Garba or other Hindu festivals, they are either:
- Ignorant of what their own faith teaches about mushrikeen (polytheists)
- Instrumental—consciously or unconsciously serving the infiltration strategies we document in our analysis of demographic warfare
Neither scenario justifies Hindu communities abandoning their sacred boundaries.
Islamic Classification: Where Hindus Stand in the Theological Hierarchy
The Three-Tier System: Believers, People of the Book, and Mushrikeen
Islamic Texts and Polytheist Verdict divides humanity into distinct categories with radically different theological and legal treatment:
Tier 1: Muslims (Believers)
Those who have submitted to Allah and accepted Muhammad as the final prophet. Full legal rights, spiritual salvation guaranteed if faithful.
Tier 2: Ahl al-Kitab (People of the Book)
Jews and Christians who possess corrupted but originally divine revelation. Can be tolerated under Islamic rule by paying jizya (protection tax) and accepting subjugation. Theological destiny: hellfire unless they convert to Islam.
Tier 3: Mushrikeen (Polytheists) and Kuffar (Rejectors)
Those who worship multiple deities or reject Allah entirely. This is where Hindus are classified. No middle ground. No tolerance option. Once polytheism is identified, Islamic Texts and Polytheist Verdict follows a fixed sequence: invitation to Islam, rejection of that invitation, and initiation of armed struggle. The sequence terminates only when polytheism disappears from the contested space.
As we documented in Nazia’s Classification Crisis: Why Hindus Are Kafir, this classification is not scholarly debate—it is unambiguous Qur’anic injunction with profound practical implications.

The Qur’anic Verdict: What Allah Commands Regarding Mushrikeen
Surah At-Tawbah (Chapter 9): The Ultimate Statement
Surah At-Tawbah, revealed in the final years of Muhammad’s life and therefore abrogating earlier, more conciliatory verses, contains the clearest commands regarding polytheists:
Verse 9:5 – Ayat al-Sayf (The Verse of the Sword)
“But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the mushrikeen wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent [convert to Islam], and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.”
This verse, known as the ‘Verse of the Sword,’ is considered by classical Islamic scholars to have abrogated a large body of earlier verses that counseled patience or peaceful coexistence with non-Muslims. Its command is explicit:
- Find mushrikeen wherever they are
- Ki*l them
- Besiege them
- Ambush them
- The only escape: conversion to Islam
As our comprehensive analysis of Surah Tawbah demonstrates, this is not a verse that scholars debate or reinterpret—it is accepted as Allah’s final word on polytheists.
The Qur’an’s treatment of mushrikeen is neither symbolic nor situational. Across its final and governing verses, polytheism is framed as an existential theological offense that must be eliminated through conversion or force. Sacred exclusion, territorial dominance, and religious confrontation are not cultural accidents but direct consequences of Qur’anic command. Any expectation of ritual or spiritual coexistence with polytheism directly contradicts this scriptural framework.
Verse 9:28 – The Impurity Declaration
“O ye who believe! Truly the mushrikeen are unclean; so let them not, after this year of theirs, approach the Sacred Mosque [Mecca].”
Mushrikeen are declared ritually impure (najas)—so polluted in their polytheism that they contaminate sacred space by their mere presence. This is why non-Muslims are absolutely banned from Mecca and Medina to this day.
Question for the “secular” intellectuals: If mushrikeen are too impure to approach Mecca, why should Hindus accept them in Garba pandals dedicated to Goddess Durga?
Verse 9:29 – The Differential Treatment
“Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.”
This verse establishes the jizya system for Jews and Christians—they can live under Islamic rule by paying protection money and accepting humiliation. But notice: This option is explicitly denied to mushrikeen. For polytheists, there is no jizya option. Only conversion or worse.
This differential treatment is not medieval interpretation—it is foundational fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) practiced throughout Islamic history, including in India where Hindus were sometimes forced to pay jizya under legal frameworks that technically prohibited it, as we document in our series on Islamic Influence and Jazia Tax in India.

Verse 9:123 – The Command to Fight Proximate Kuffar
“O ye who believe! Fight the unbelievers who are near to you, and let them find firmness in you: and know that Allah is with those who fear Him.”
This verse commands Muslims to prioritize fighting the non-believers closest to them geographically. Under Islamic doctrinal injunctions to confront the nearest unbelievers, Hindus in India become the primary civilizational enemy.
This doctrinal framework explains why Hindu festivals like Garba cannot be treated as open cultural events.
Beyond Surah Tawbah: The Broader Qur’anic Condemnation
The verdict on mushrikeen appears throughout the Qur’an with consistent severity:
Surah Al-Anfal 8:39 – Fight Until Monotheism Prevails
“And fight them until there is no more fitnah (polytheism/disbelief) and the religion is all for Allah.”
The objective is unambiguous: eliminate polytheism entirely. No pluralism. No coexistence. Total monotheistic dominance.
Surah Al-Bayyinah 98:6 – The Worst of Creation
“Verily, those who disbelieve from among the People of the Book and the mushrikeen will abide in the Fire of Hell. They are the worst of creatures.”
Mushrikeen are declared the worst of all created beings—worse than animals, worse than devils—presented as an eternal divine judgment within Islamic belief.
Surah Al-Imran 3:28 – The Prohibition of Friendship
“Let not believers take disbelievers as allies rather than believers. And whoever [of you] does that has nothing with Allah, except when taking precaution against them in prudence.”
Muslims are explicitly forbidden from taking non-Muslims as genuine friends or allies—unless engaging in taqiyya (deception for strategic advantage). This means any Muslim “friendship” with Hindus that appears to violate this command is either ignorance of doctrine or deliberate tactical deception.
Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:51 – The Alliance Prohibition
“O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you – then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people.”
If even Jews and Christians—who are People of the Book and theoretically tolerable under jizya—cannot be true allies, how much more severe is the prohibition against alliance with mushrikeen?

Hadith Evidence: Muhammad’s Commands on Polytheists
The Qur’an provides the theological foundation, but the Hadith—Muhammad’s sayings and actions—provide operational instructions. These are considered binding precedent in Islamic law.
Sahih Muslim 1731 – Fight Until Shahada
“I have been commanded to fight against people till they testify that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, and keep up prayer, and pay zakat…”
Muhammad explicitly states his mission: fight until everyone converts to Islam. No exceptions for polytheists. No peace until global submission to Allah.
Sahih Bukhari 25 – The Same Command, Reinforced
“Allah’s Messenger said: ‘I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.'”
This is not a defensive war doctrine. This is offensive jihad—conquest until monotheism prevails globally.
Sahih Muslim 4366 – The Conquest of India Prophesied
“There are two groups of my Ummah whom Allah will free from the Fire: The group that invades India, and the group that will be with Isa ibn Maryam [Jesus].”
Muhammad specifically prophesied the conquest of India and promised paradise to those who accomplish it. This hadith has been repeatedly cited to motivate—from Muhammad bin Qasim to Mahmud of Ghazni to Aurangzeb.
Contemporary jihadists still cite this hadith as justification for targeting Hindu civilization, as we document in our analysis of demographic warfare patterns.

The Assassination of Ka’b ibn al-Ashraf – Setting Precedent
When Muhammad decided that Ka’b ibn al-Ashraf, a Jewish poet who criticized him, needed to be eliminated, he asked: “Who will kill Ka’b ibn al-Ashraf? He has said injurious things about Allah and His Messenger.”
Muhammad then authorized deception (taqiyya) to accomplish the assassination. His companion Muhammad ibn Maslamah pretended friendship with Ka’b, gained his trust, and murdered him.
This established precedent: Deception in the service of Islam is not only permitted but praiseworthy when dealing with enemies of the faith.
Hadith Evidence — Section Recap
The Hadith literature operationalizes Qur’anic doctrine by defining conduct, strategy, and precedent. From commands to fight until submission, to prophetic sanction of conquest, to the legitimization of deception against religious adversaries, the Sunnah translates belief into action. These precedents leave no doctrinal space for sincere participation in polytheist worship, only compliance, concealment, or confrontation.
Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence): How Scholars Codified the Verdict
This verse, known as the “Verse of the Sword,” was treated by classical Islamic jurisprudence as the final and governing command toward non-Muslims, effectively overriding earlier conciliatory verses and serving as the operative rule in Islamic practice:
No Jizya for Polytheists – Only Conversion or War
All four Sunni madhabs (schools of jurisprudence) agree: mushrikeen cannot be granted dhimmi status (protected but subjugated non-Muslims). The choice for polytheists is binary:
- Convert to Islam
- Face war/death
This is not extremist interpretation—this is mainstream fiqh taught in Al-Azhar, Deoband, and every traditional Islamic seminary.
The next essay will examine these patterns in historical detail.
The Historical Compromise in India
When Muslim conquerors invaded India and encountered tens of millions of Hindus, they faced a practical dilemma: they couldn’t kill everyone, and mass conversion was proceeding too slowly. So some Muslim rulers made an expedient exception to fiqh and allowed Hindus to pay jizya despite their mushrik status.
But this was always recognized as a deviation from pure Islamic law, justified only by dar al-harb (house of war) conditions. Hardline scholars like Aurangzeb later tried to “correct” this leniency, as we document in our historical analysis of temple destructions and Islamic rule. Was this accommodation purely circumstantial, or was it also enabled by doctrines permitting strategic concealment under hostile conditions?
Ibn Taymiyyah on Fighting Polytheists
Ibn Taymiyyah (1263-1328), one of Islam’s most influential scholars and a major inspiration for contemporary jihadist movements, was explicit:
“The mushrikeen are to be fought absolutely until they submit to Islam. There is no middle ground.”
His writings on the obligation to wage jihad against polytheists have inspired movements from the Wahhabi revolution to modern Salafi-jihadism.

The Impossibility of Sincere Participation
Given this comprehensive doctrinal framework, we return to the central question: Can a devout Muslim genuinely participate in Hindu worship?
The answer is definitively no, and here’s why:
Doctrinal Impossibility
For a Muslim to sincerely worship Hindu deities would require:
- Accepting that deities other than Allah are worthy of worship → This is shirk, the one unforgivable sin in Islam
- Believing that Hindu gods possess divine power → This contradicts tawhid (absolute monotheism)
- Participating in rituals that invoke these deities → This constitutes apostasy, punishable by death in Islamic law
A devout Muslim cannot do any of these things without ceasing to be Muslim.
The Taqiyya Alternative
If a Muslim does participate in Hindu worship, only two explanations are possible:
- Ignorance: They don’t understand or haven’t internalized what Islam teaches about mushrikeen
- Taqiyya: They are engaging in deception permitted within Islamic jurisprudence for strategic advantage
As we document in our analysis of Trojan tactics, the pattern of Muslim girls seeking entry to Hindu festivals fits a broader strategy of infiltration that has been perfected over centuries.
What “Inclusion” Actually Means
When Muslim girls seek entry to Garba, Hindu organizers have reasons to believe that they are not seeking spiritual fulfillment from Hindu dharma. They are:
- Testing boundaries
- Creating grievance narratives when refused
- Establishing precedents for future infiltration
- Acting as wedges for broader civilizational warfare
The media then amplifies refusal as “discrimination,” creating pressure on Hindu communities to abandon sacred boundaries. This is strategic, not accidental.

Doctrine Demands What History Confirms
Islamic doctrine’s treatment of mushrikeen is not ambiguous, not subject to “progressive” reinterpretation, and not open to pluralistic accommodation:
- Qur’an: Fight them, kill them, subjugate them until Islam prevails
- Hadith: Conquest of polytheist lands is divinely commanded and rewarded
- Fiqh: No middle ground—conversion or war
- Practice: Deception (taqiyya) is authorized to advance Islamic objectives
When Hindus exclude Muslims from Garba or other sacred rituals, they are not engaging in bigotry—they are responding rationally to doctrinal realities that Islam itself declares non-negotiable.
The next blog in this series will demonstrate how history validates what doctrine demands—from the Ridda Wars to temple destruction in India to modern Love Jihad patterns, Islamic practice has consistently implemented what Islamic theology prescribes.
What This Means for Hindu Sacred Boundaries
Hindus must understand that “inclusion” of Muslims in Hindu sacred spaces is not an act of generosity or pluralism—it is civilizational suicide. Islamic doctrine makes clear that:
- Muslims cannot sincerely worship Hindu deities without committing apostasy
- Participation is either ignorance or infiltration
- Each concession weakens Hindu sovereignty over sacred space
The choice is stark: Assert sacred boundaries or watch them dissolve.
As we established in our foundational analysis, this is not mimicry of Islamic exclusivism—it is assertion of the civilizational right to survive. Every religion practices sacred exclusion. Hindus are simply the only ones shamed for it.
