Arjun Langthasa and Jowte Dao Kemprai, alongside 54 members of the Revolutionary Dimasa Army, embarked on a mission to join forces with the INA near Kohima. Their journey was abruptly ended by a British ambush at Khiren Khowai Range. This day saw the loss of valiant souls from the North Cachar Hill District of Assam, who aimed to challenge colonial dominance.

The Sacrifice of Joya Thaosen

Joya Thaosen, a young leader inspired by the INA, formed the Revolutionary Dimasa Army to resist British exploitation. Her dreams, and those of her 54 associates, were shattered on April 7, 1944, as they fell to British forces before they could unite with the INA.
